Antares Kick Off Meeting

The ANTARES Kick-off Meeting was held on March 1-3, 2017, at the Central Building of the University of Novi Sad, Serbia.

The meeting gathered around 30 international guests and nearly 150 government and industrial representatives and eminent researchers.

Robert Jan-Smit, Director-General of DG Research and Innovation, European Commission, attended the Kick-off, as one of the most prominent EC representatives. The entire event was closely followed by numerous national and regional media, noted as the event of the outstanding importance for Serbian science and economy.

During the Opening ceremony, the contract on the national contribution to ANTARES project was signed, followed by presentation of the ANTARES project, press conference, opening of the ERC project BIRTH exhibition and other BioSense H2020 projects. The conceptual design, as well as 1:100 scale model of the new BioSense building, that will be built as part of the ANTARES project, were presented to audience.

ANTARES Kick-off meeting was organized to explore synergies between participants, discussing potential risks and mitigation measures, defining top priorities and challenges, ending with ideas brainstorming. The active involvement and feedback provided by the Advisory Board members was crucial to see the Project and its goals from another perspective and new ways how to overcome potential problems.
